The ninth event of the great annual celebration of Greek e-commerce, the e-volution awards, took place again this year in a very festive atmosphere. Achieving record attendance, the awards, organized by Marketing Week and Boussias Communications in partnership with ELTRUN, validate their position as an institution and continue to recognize and reward best practices in e-commerce and business.

More than 500 high-ranking market executives attended the award ceremony, which took place on Wednesday, December 18, at the Athenaeum InterContinental Athens, hosted by Panagiotis Hatzidakis.

As every year, the most important e-shops and e-commerce agencies of the country competed in the event, claiming the great distinctions, Platinum Award, E-Commerce Agency of the Year, E-Business of the Year and E-shop of the Year.

The event was opened with a greeting by the Chairman of the Jury Prof. George Doukidis, Director of the E-Commerce Laboratory ELTRUN of the Athens University of Economics, who characterized the awards as a celebration of e-commerce. He also noted that this year's event was characterized by a record number of nominations, excellent participation in terms of quality, as well as by the largest jury in the history of the institution. At the same time, he shared with the public the 5 trends that emerged through the awards: "1. Significant figures compared to last year, in terms of traffic, the budget available to companies, but also in terms of sales turnovers, 2. Customer focus at all stages of the customer's shopping trip (emphasis on analytics and actions based on personalization), 3. Systems development (very good specialized platforms, very advanced user interfaces and enough redesign & relaunching), 4. Innovation in customer experience, services and slowly in the business models itself, and 5. Connecting what we do with business strategy, either in the context of digital transformation, or extroversion, or in the re-engineering of the development of organizations ".

Highlights of the ceremony were the award of the E-Commerce Agency of the Year that went to ATCOM, the award of the E-shop of the Year to IKEA, while the E-Business of the Year was nominated to Eurobank Ergasias.
