Fan Coil Units

The well known Fan Coils are terminal air conditioning units, for cooling and heating, which are hydraulically connected and form the thermal energy transmittion system of building. Their operation requires a water circuit. Fan Coils have a heating/cooling coil and the air conditioning is accomplished  by forced circulation.

Why should I choose Fan Coil Units?

The advantages of installing Fan Coil Units are multiple:

  • Very good heating and cooling performance, even at very low or high ambient temperatures.
  • The low temperatures required for their operation make them low-consumption machines, in case they operate in variable speed (inverter) they have an even less energy consumption, resulting in even greater savings. However, power consumption is also proportional to the speed of the fans.
  • They offer to the user many installation options, such as wall-mounted, hidden false ceiling with or without air ducts, floor, cassetes etc.
  • With the use of suitable room thermostats, the user can have autonomy per air-conditioned zone, even in each room.
  • They can be connected to different heat sources, such as condensing gas boilers or heat pumps or even hybrid systems that combine different heat sources.
  • They can operate as a new air conditioning system or replace the existing one by making the required changes to the building’s piping.

Why should I choose a combination of Heat Pump and Fan Coil Units?

The benefits of choosing a Heat Pump as a heat source combined with Fan Coil Units  as terminal units are multiple:

  • Use of one external unit which is the Heat Pump, that will be able to give heating and cooling in our space, thus avoiding the use of many independent systems with more than one external air conditioning units.
  • The heat pump operates either in low or in medium temperatures, so it requires low energy consumption.
  • Other systems can be combined, such as underfloor heating, as it also requires low water temperatures during its operation, too.
  • By choosing water instead of another refrigerant (freon) as a heat transfer means, I implement a more environmental friendly policy.

Types of Fan Coil Units

1. Floor Standing Fan Coil

Visible floor standing terminal unit, up to 9.1Kw heating efficiency. There is the choice of front or bottom air intake. Also, in our product catalogue you will find a floor standing Fan Coil Slim, only 13cm thick.

2. Concealed Fan Coil in false ceiling

Concealed terminal units of low, medium and high static pressure, for combination with a ventilation system or direct air supply, with an output up to 23.51kW in heating. There is the possibility of front or bottom air intake.

Find the right Concealed Fan Coil here.

3. Concealed Floor Fan Coil

Concealed floor standing terminal units for installation in plasterboard or furniture, of medium static pressure, for combination with a ventilation system or direct air supply, with silent operation and an output up to 7.2kW in heating.

Find the right Concealed Floor Fan Coil here.

4. Wall mounted Fan Coil

Wall mounted terminal unit with an output up to 3.5kW in heating that provides high efficiency and silent operation at all three available fan speeds.

Find the right Wall mounted Fan Coil here.

All the above products are available for connection with an electronic room thermostat, a digital room thermostat or in case of the wall-mounted unit with a remote control. They can also be equipped with a condensate collection tray and a set of three-way valves, in order to avoid  pressure drop in the unit by means of “by pass”, in case the unit stops operating by the thermostat, keeping its flow constant, sending its water on its return circuit.
