When renovating or building a new house, we should carefully think about the good insulation of the building and the choice of a suitable heating system. Thus, the combination of a well-insulated building and a medium temperature heat pump system (60 οC) is the ideal solution to heat our space with as little energy consumption as possible, especially when we choose a heat pump with a high SCOP.

When we upgrade our home’s heating system to achieve maximum savings we should think about replacing the old radiators with new heat panels. Heat pumps provide the consumer with greater energy savings when they operate at lower water temperatures for heating.

Thus, changing – if not all – some of our old radiators, which as a rule need higher temperature water to heat the space, with new, of new technology and low temperature ones and at the same time setting the heat pump to a lower water temperature, we will take full advantage of  maximizing savings on our new heating system.

In addition, the thermostatic heads on each radiator can lead to further energy savings as each unit reduction in temperature corresponds to approximately 6% savings.
